Civarra LLC (“Civarra,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates civarra.com, including our online store and related content, features, products, customer accounts, and services (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit or use the Services, place an order, create an account, contact us, or otherwise interact with us. It also explains the privacy rights and choices that may be available to you.
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed by Civarra. Some third parties that help us provide the Services, including Stripe, process information under their own privacy policies.
Personal Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address, and shipping address.
- Order and transaction information, such as the products you view, add to your cart or wishlist, purchase, return, cancel, or request information about; order numbers; order history; discounts; shipping method; delivery status; and transaction records.
- Account information, such as your username, encrypted password, account preferences, saved addresses, and account activity.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment credentials directly. We generally receive payment status, transaction amount, billing information, payment method type, and limited payment details such as card brand and the last four digits of the card. We do not store your full payment card number or card security code on our servers.
- Communications, including information you provide when you contact customer support, submit a form, respond to a survey, request a return or refund, or otherwise communicate with us.
- Reviews and other content, such as product reviews, ratings, comments, photographs, or other content you choose to submit. Content you submit for public display may be visible to other visitors.
- Device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from your IP address, access dates and times, and interactions with the Services.
- Cookie and preference information, such as session identifiers, cart contents, language or region preferences, consent selections, and information collected through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies.
- Marketing information, such as your communication preferences and your interactions with marketing emails or advertisements.
- Fraud and security information, such as signals used to authenticate transactions, prevent fraud, protect accounts, and secure the Services.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information unless it is necessary to provide the Services, comply with law, prevent fraud, or you choose to provide it to us.
How We Collect Personal Information
We may collect personal information:
- Directly from you, including when you browse the store, create an account, place an order, submit a review, join a mailing list, request support, or otherwise provide information to us.
- Automatically, through cookies, server logs, pixels, and similar technologies when you use the Services.
- From service providers, including Stripe, website hosting and security providers, analytics providers, marketing platforms, shipping carriers, fulfillment providers, and customer-support tools.
- From business partners and other third parties, where permitted by law.
WordPress and WooCommerce
Our website is built using WordPress and WooCommerce. These systems help us operate the storefront, shopping cart, checkout, customer accounts, product reviews, inventory, and order management.
Information you submit through the store may be stored in our website database and backups and processed through our hosting, security, and other technical service providers. Using WooCommerce software does not, by itself, mean that your customer information is shared with WooCommerce.com. However, particular plugins, extensions, or connected services may process information when needed to provide their functions. We review the services we enable and disclose relevant categories of recipients in this Privacy Policy.
Payments Through Stripe
We use Stripe to process payments. When you make or attempt to make a payment, information necessary to process and support the transaction is sent to Stripe. This may include your name, email address, billing address, telephone number, order amount, currency, payment method information, device information, IP address, and transaction details.
Stripe may use this information to process payments, authenticate transactions, prevent fraud and financial loss, handle disputes and refunds, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and provide or improve its services. Stripe may share transaction information with banks, card networks, payment-method providers, fraud-prevention partners, and other entities involved in completing or protecting the transaction.
Stripe may act as our service provider or processor and, for certain activities, as an independent controller of personal information. Stripe’s handling of personal information is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate and protect the Services, remember your choices, understand site performance, and, where enabled and permitted by law, support analytics and advertising.
These technologies may include:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which support functions such as the shopping cart, checkout, account login, security, fraud prevention, and payment processing.
- Preference cookies, which remember settings and choices.
- Analytics cookies, which help us understand how visitors use the Services and improve performance.
- Advertising cookies and pixels, which may help us measure campaigns or show more relevant advertisements, where these tools are enabled.
WooCommerce and Stripe may set cookies that are necessary to maintain a shopping session and securely process payments. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our cookie-consent controls. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Services, including the cart or checkout, from working correctly.
How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
- process payments, orders, returns, refunds, cancellations, and other transactions;
- create and manage customer accounts;
- arrange fulfillment, shipping, delivery, and order tracking;
- communicate about orders, accounts, policy updates, security, and customer-support requests;
- personalize the shopping experience and remember preferences;
- display and manage product reviews and other submitted content;
- send marketing communications where permitted by law;
- measure the effectiveness of our website, communications, and advertising;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and illegal activity;
- enforce our terms, policies, and agreements;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests, protection of vital interests, and your consent. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:
- Payment and financial-service providers, including Stripe, banks, card networks, payment-method providers, and fraud-prevention providers.
- Website and technology providers, including hosting, cloud storage, content delivery, cybersecurity, maintenance, database, backup, email, and customer-support providers.
- Fulfillment and delivery partners, including suppliers, warehouses, dropshipping or fulfillment providers, shipping carriers, and delivery services. We may provide these parties with your name, delivery address, contact details, order contents, and other information needed to fulfill and deliver your order.
- Analytics, advertising, and marketing providers, where we use those services and where permitted by law.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, auditors, insurers, banks, consultants, and legal advisers.
- Government authorities and other parties for legal reasons, when disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, customers, systems, property, or the public.
- Parties to a business transaction, such as an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business or assets.
- Other parties at your direction or with your consent, such as when you choose to use a third-party integration or social-media feature.
We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on the technologies used on the Services and the law where you live, disclosure of identifiers or internet activity to advertising partners may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or use for targeted advertising. Where these laws apply, you may request to opt out by contacting us at support@civarra.com.
Marketing Communications
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send non-promotional communications, such as order confirmations, delivery updates, account notices, security alerts, and responses to your requests.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain accounts, fulfill orders, comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements.
Retention periods depend on the type of information and the reason it was collected. For example:
- order and transaction records may be retained for legal, tax, accounting, warranty, refund, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes;
- account information may be retained while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward;
- pending, failed, or cancelled order information may be retained according to our configured WooCommerce retention settings; and
- marketing information may be retained until you opt out or it is no longer needed.
When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it, subject to technical and legal limitations. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Payments made through the official WooCommerce Stripe integration use Stripe-hosted payment fields so that sensitive card details are handled by Stripe rather than stored on our website.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and should not share your password with anyone.
International Data Transfers
Civarra is based in the United States, and our service providers, suppliers, fulfillment partners, and other recipients may operate in the United States and other countries. As a result, personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from those where you live.
Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as approved contractual protections or transfers to jurisdictions recognized as providing adequate protection.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- request access to or a copy of personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- request restriction of or object to certain processing;
- request portability of personal information;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of marketing communications;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising, where applicable;
- limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, where applicable; and
- appeal a decision we make about a privacy request, where applicable.
You may submit a privacy request by emailing support@civarra.com. Please describe your request and the email address associated with your account or order. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also use an authorized agent where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and identity verification.
These rights are not absolute. We may retain or continue to process information where permitted or required by law, including for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, safety, or legal-compliance purposes. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for valid consent to online data processing, that higher age applies. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Third-Party Websites and Services
The Services may contain links to websites, platforms, or services operated by third parties. Their privacy and security practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, technology, Services, or legal obligations. We will post the updated version on this page, revise the “Last updated” date, and provide any additional notice required by law.
